We further enhance our relationship with partner universities by designing a staff to fit the university's exact needs. We strive to match the university's requirements with exceptional individuals who are highly qualified and who possess the appropriate experience to accomplish their responsibilities successfully.

Marketing and Sales

The Marketing and Sales department assist managers in creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan. Reaching out to students on a national, regional, and local scale, our on-site managers rely on coordinated technology and training to reach target markets and to sell leases. Allen & O'Hara routinely leads the market in rates, occupancy, and revenue.

Recruitment, Training and Development

Management Services collaborates with the Human Resources department to coordinate a comprehensive recruitment and training program. Because we feel that our strength lies within our well trained staff, we have developed two outstanding programs to support the training and development needs of Allen & O'Hara managers. FASTRACK, a bi-annual seminar-styled session brings all of our managers together to learn contemporary management strategies and leadership styles. PERFORMANCE2, an on-going, results-oriented system of on-the-job training, teaches managers the art of self-improvement, goal setting, and relationship building.

The A&O Policy and Procedures Manual details all critical management functions (e.g. staffing, loss and prevention, marketing and sales) and provides guidance and support for managers. The comprehensive nature of these programs aims at the mastery of management skills and operating procedures. For our partner universities, this translates into quality products and services for students.

In our quest to identify and secure superior staff, Allen & O'Hara recruits at the national level, taking advantage of several professional organizations' career and placement centers. We value managers from unique backgrounds and strive to enhance the diversity represented on the campuses we serve.

Accounting

The Accounting department provides clear, timely, detailed data for each of our clients. Allen & O'Hara's strong reporting system keeps clients apprised of their financial status. Occasionally, we find that clients need specific, supplemental information. We maintain the flexibility to provide the data required to meet these needs.

Information Services

The Information Services department supports management, administration, and students with computing capabilities for limitless communication and quick, reliable information sharing. Each of our communities provide one data port per student. Large, well equipped computer centers at each community offer students easy access to the latest computers and software.

Community managers are given comprehensive training and the tools necessary to effectively navigate our property management software. Information Services staff support all of our student housing properties and work with company managers to resolve issues quickly, using a priority system. Software and hardware upgrades are introduced regularly, allowing us to easily keep up with the ever changing technologies.
