In today's tight-budget environment, there is virtually no college or university that provides housing for its entire enrollment. Students often choose to live off campus in housing which includes apartments, duplexes, residence halls, boarding houses, and even trailer parks.

For some students this means older, low-cost housing that can't provide what most students desire; accommodations that are similar to those at home (including a private bedroom, a private or semi-private bathroom, study area, and other residential amenities).

To meet the growing demand for near-campus student housing that is affordable, convenient, and comfortable, Allen & O'Hara has refined concepts for both near-campus student apartment communities and residence halls. Utilizing its 43 plus years experience in providing housing for students (combined with extensive research on student housing preferences), Allen & O'Hara has created high-quality college communities and dormitories that are tailored to university students' needs and conveniently located near-campus.

Allen & O'Hara College Communities

These college communities typically offer garden-style apartments with private bedrooms in 2, 3, and 4-bedroom units, with full kitchen amenities, full-size washer and dryer, and private or semi-private bathrooms. Our portfolio also includes private residence halls with extensive programming space and in-depth living/learning programs.

Each Allen & O'Hara community offers students a secure environment with a wide range of recreational amenities and support services. Providing quality living in good residential neighborhoods (with close proximity to the university served as well as commercial services) is the goal of the A&O college communities. Allen & O'Hara garden-style apartments typically include a swimming pool, clubhouse, computer lab, meeting/study rooms, basketball court, and a sand volleyball court. Communities range in size from 150 to 300 units, housing between 400 and 900 students.

These college communities are managed with sensitivity to the special needs and desires of students while maintaining strict but fair guidelines for occupancy. At Allen & O'Hara, we're convinced that treating students as adults encourages them to behave as adults.
