University Village
On the campus of California State University, San Marcos
San Marcos, CA
The project houses 475 freshmen and transfer students in two and four bedroom units. The complex includes a large community building that provides recreational and educational amenities to the students living in the housing complex.
The fully furnished units include private and double bedrooms, a living/dining room, two bathrooms and full kitchen. All bedrooms are wired for telephone, cable TV and the University data network. Each floor of each building includes a laundry room and a meeting room. Two apartments for faculty and staff are also included. Each building has an elevator and interior corridors, and all units are handicap-accessible.
The architecture of the housing is designed to complement the existing design of the main campus. UVA is the first of several phases of housing to be built on campus. Phase I is intended to primarily house freshmen.
This will be the first housing on the CSUSM campus, and Allen & O'Hara Education Services, LLC is functioning as the Housing Office, operates the facility, and provides Residence Life programming in close cooperation with the University.
